Ducks LW Ryan named Rookie of the Month
Feb 3, 2009 - 6:06 PM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Anaheim Ducks right wing Bobby Ryan on Tuesday was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for January.Ryan, 21, enjoyed a huge January, registering 11 goals, which matched the most in a month since Washington's Alex Ovechkin tallied 11 in March 2006.
Ryan also set a Ducks rookie record for goals in a month. Paul Kariya (March 1995) and Dustin Penner (March 2007) held the previous mark of seven.
Overall, Ryan finished the month with 16 points.
