Canadiens RW Laraque returns
Feb 7, 2009 - 8:04 AM BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- Montreal Canadiens right wing Georges Laraque returned to the lineup in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres after a lengthy absence due to a groin injury.The 32-year-old enforcer had not played since December 21, missing 18 games with the ailment. On Friday, Laraque recorded one shot on goal and a minus-1 rating in 8 minutes, 34 seconds of ice time.
In 18 contests this season, his first with the Canadiens, the 6-3, 253-pounder has registered two assists and 29 penalty minutes.
A second-round pick of Edmonton in 1995, the native of Montreal has collected 52 goals, 98 assists and 1,066 penalty minutes in 652 career games with the Oilers, Phoenix Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins and Canadiens.
