C Hecht, D Spacek return in Sabres' victory

Feb 7, 2009 - 8:20 AM BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Sabres welcomed back center Jochen Hecht and defenseman Jaroslav Spacek in their 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

Hecht missed two games with a head injury, while Spacek was sidelined for two contests with a hip ailment.

The 31-year-old Hecht registered an assist and Spacek scored a goal in Friday's triumph.

In 41 games this season, the 6-1, 191-pound Hecht has recorded six goals and 11 assists. A second-round pick of St. Louis in 1995, the German has collected 138 tallies and 360 points in 589 career contests with the Blues, Edmonton Oilers and Sabres.

Spacek, 34, has notched three goals and 21 assists in 51 games this campaign. The 5-11, 204-pound Czech, who was selected by Florida in the fifth round of the 1998 draft, has amassed 68 tallies, 282 points and 495 penalty minutes in 672 career contests with the Panthers, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Oilers and Sabres.
