Islanders RW Hunter out vs. Devils

Feb 12, 2009 - 3:16 AM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- New York Islanders right wing Trent Hunter missed Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils with a hip flexor.

Hunter, who is listed as day-to-day, recorded an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

A native of Red Deer, Alberta, the 28-year-old has registered 14 goals and 17 assists in 48 games this season.

Selected by Anaheim in the sixth round of the 1998 draft, Hunter has amassed 87 tallies and 197 points in 374 contests with the Islanders over his six-year career.
