Senators RW Donovan scores in return
Feb 12, 2009 - 5:52 AM BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- Ottawa Senators right wing Shean Donovan made an immediate impact in his return to the lineup Wednesday, scoring the decisive goal in a 3-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.The 34-year-old Donovan had been sidelined for eight games with a knee injury. Prior to getting hurt, he recorded four goals and three assists in 41 games this season.
Against Buffalo, Donovan tallied at 9:44 of the second period to stake Ottawa to a 2-0 lead. It was the only shot on goal the veteran registered in 6 minutes, 10 seconds of ice time.
A second-round pick of San Jose in 1993, the 6-3, 218-pound native of Timmins, Ontario has registered 110 goals and 124 assists in 898 career games with the Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins and Senators.
