Flames D Regehr returns after suffering facial injury

Feb 12, 2009 - 4:13 AM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Calgary Flames defenseman Robyn Regehr returned to Wednesday's game against the Anaheim Ducks after suffering an apparent facial injury.

Regehr was struck in the face by a puck at the end of the first period and received several stitches. He returned in time for the start of the following session.

A native of Recife, Brazil, Regehr has recorded six assists and 44 penalty minutes in 52 games this season.

Selected 19th overall by Colorado in the 1998 draft, the 28-year-old Regehr has amassed 25 tallies, 102 assists and 635 penalty minutes in 643 contests with the Flames over his nine-year career.
