Isles C Weight injures knee in loss to Devils
Feb 12, 2009 - 7:14 AM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- New York Islanders center Doug Weight left Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils in the second period with a knee injury and did not return.The 38-year-old Weight registered one shot on goal in 7 minutes, 6 seconds of ice time before exiting. His status for Saturday's game at Philadelphia is uncertain.
A native of Detroit, Weight has recorded nine goals and 26 assists in 44 games this season.
Selected by the New York Rangers in the second round of the 1990 draft, Weight has amassed 274 tallies and 1,004 points in 1,175 contests with the Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks and Islanders over his 17-year career.
