Bruins recall RW Karsums, C Sobotka from minors
Feb 13, 2009 - 12:11 AM BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins on Thursday recalled right wing Martins Karsums and center Vladimir Sobotka from Providence of the American Hockey League.Karsums appeared in three games for Boston this season, recording his first career NHL point with an assist in a 5-1 win over Carolina on January 10. The 22-year-old also has collected 17 goals and 24 assists in 43 contests with Providence this season.
A native of Riga, Latvia, Karsums was a second-round selection in the 2004 draft.
The 21-year-old Sobotka, who has been recalled three other times this campaign, has registered one tally and two assists in 19 games with Boston. In 25 contests with Providence, he has notched 12 goals and 27 points.
A fourth-round pick in 2005, the 5-10, 183-pound Czech has amassed two goals and 10 points in 67 career games with Boston.
