Blackhawks C Sharp leaves game

Feb 15, 2009 - 6:16 AM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Chicago Blackhawks center Patrick Sharp left Saturday's 6-2 victory over the Dallas Stars during the first period with a lower body injury.

Sharp was injured just 39 seconds into the contest after being on the receiving end of a check by Dallas' Steve Ott. Sharp left the ice and did not put much weight on his left foot while retreating to the dressing room.

He did not return to the contest.

"We will know more on Monday, (but it was a) lower body injury," Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said of Sharp's availability for the team's road games against Tampa Bay (Tuesday), Florida (Thursday) and Dallas (Saturday). "I don't think he will go our road trip."

The team leader in goals with 23, Sharp also has recorded 15 assists in 54 games this season.
