Stars C Richards out 6-8 weeks
Feb 17, 2009 - 7:35 PM FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- Dallas Stars center Brad Richards will miss six to eight weeks with a fractured right wrist, the team announced Tuesday.A former Conn Smythe trophy winner, Richards suffered the injury in the second period of Monday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets when he was checked into the boards by Columbus rookie Jakub Voracek.
The team said Richards would not need surgery. He will be re-evaluated in a month.
Richards netted his 16th goal of the season just 27 seconds into Monday's 3-2 shootout victory.
The 28-year-old Richards has 32 assists in 54 games this season.
