Flames RW Moss leaves game

Feb 22, 2009 - 8:13 AM EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- Calgary Flames right wing David Moss left Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Edmonton Oilers in the third period with an undisclosed injury and did not return.

The 27-year-old collided with teammate Dustin Boyd with three minutes remaining in the session and skated off the ice in obvious pain. He recorded four shots in 13 minutes, 21 seconds of ice time before exiting.

"As far as we know, (he's OK)," Flames coach Mike Keenan said. "I asked him after the game, I haven't had a medical report, but I asked him after the game how he was doing and he thinks he's fine. But it was a heck of a train wreck.

"All I could think was, 'Oh my God, here goes some more guys down.' Hopefully, they've come out of it."

A native of Dearborn, Michigan, Moss has registered 16 goals and 12 assists in 59 games this season.
