Maple Leafs activate Ds Kaberle, Van Ryn from IR
Mar 1, 2009 - 12:10 AM OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs activated defensemen Tomas Kaberle and Mike Van Ryn from injured reserve prior to Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators.Kaberle, who missed 13 contests with a broken right hand, had not played since a 7-4 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on January 29.
The 30-year-old Czech has recorded four goals and 26 assists in 49 games this season.
After a nine-game absence, Van Ryn returns to the lineup since suffering a knee injury in a 5-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on February 7.
A native of London, Ontario, the 29-year-old has registered three tallies and 10 points in 23 games this season.
