Capitals' Ovechkin sits out vs. Maple Leafs

Mar 6, 2009 - 12:22 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin will miss Thursday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a bruised heel.

The reigning Hart Trophy winner suffered the injury when he was hit by a shot off the stick of coach Dean Evason in practice Wednesday.

Ovechkin, who leads the NHL with 46 goals, is riding a six-game point streak.
