Islanders sign C Jackman to extension

Mar 19, 2009 - 2:39 PM UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Islanders on Thursday signed center Tim Jackman to a one-year contract extension.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Jackman, in his second season with the Islanders, has four goals and two assists in 57 games this season.

"Tim earned this extension by showing his willingness to do whatever is necessary to help the Islanders succeed," Islanders general manager Garth Snow said. "We know Tim is excited about being an Islander next season and we're just as excited to have him back."

The 6-4, 210-pound Jackman has played in 125 career games, tallying six goals and seven assists.
