Canadiens recall G Denis

Apr 4, 2009 - 4:55 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens on Saturday recalled goaltender Marc Denis from Hamilton of the American Hockey League.

Denis had been returned to the Bulldogs on Friday after being summoned by the Canadiens a day earlier.

Drafted 25th overall by Colorado in 1995, the 31-year-old Denis appeared in one game with Montreal earlier this season, allowing one goal on seven shots in 20 minutes of action during a 4-1 loss to New Jersey on January 2.

In 44 games with Hamilton, Denis has posted a 25-18-0 record with five shutouts, a 2.48 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.

A native of Montreal, the 6-1, 193-pound Denis owns a mark of 112-179-31 with 16 shutouts, a 3.02 GAA and a .902 save percentage in 349 career NHL games with the Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning and Canadiens.
