Canadiens recall G Denis
Apr 4, 2009 - 4:55 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens on Saturday recalled goaltender Marc Denis from Hamilton of the American Hockey League.Denis had been returned to the Bulldogs on Friday after being summoned by the Canadiens a day earlier.
Drafted 25th overall by Colorado in 1995, the 31-year-old Denis appeared in one game with Montreal earlier this season, allowing one goal on seven shots in 20 minutes of action during a 4-1 loss to New Jersey on January 2.
In 44 games with Hamilton, Denis has posted a 25-18-0 record with five shutouts, a 2.48 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.
A native of Montreal, the 6-1, 193-pound Denis owns a mark of 112-179-31 with 16 shutouts, a 3.02 GAA and a .902 save percentage in 349 career NHL games with the Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning and Canadiens.
