Team Report
Last game: 4-2 loss at Minnesota, November 28 Streak: Lost 3 Next game: at Colorado, November 29 The coaching change from Barry Melrose to Rick Tocchet has changed the atmosphere surrounding the Tampa Bay Lightning, but the results haven't been so quick to change. Under Melrose's direction, Tampa Bay was 5-7-4. While the games have been close with Tocchet leading the way, the Lightning are still 1-2-3 since he took over on November 14. ...C Vincent Lecavalier notched an assist Friday and now has a six-game point streak. Lecavalier has three goals and four assists during the stretch. ...LW Ryan Malone has three goals and six points in the past four games. ... The Lightning have been involved in a league-high 14 one-goal games this season and are 4-3-7 in those games. Friday's was shaping up to be the same way before Minnesota scored an empty-net goal with 23 seconds left. ... Tampa Bay assistant coach Wes Walz was honored by the Minnesota Wild before Friday's game. Walz, a member of the Wild for seven seasons, was a part of the inaugural Wild squad. As part of a pre-game ceremony, Walz was presented with a scrapbook and a 60-second video highlighting his time in Minnesota. When he retired last December, he was the team's all-time leader in games played with 438. His 182 points in a Wild sweater still ranks fourth all-time in the team's record book.
