Red Bulls acquire D Chris Albright from Revolution
Jan 14, 2010 - 7:52 PM SECAUCUS, N.J.(AP) -- The New York Red Bulls have acquired former U.S. national team defender Chris Albright from the New England Revolution for two picks in the MLS draft.The Red Bulls announced on Thursday that they sent a second and a third-round pick - the 31st and 48th choices in Thursday's draft - for Albright.
New York still has five picks in the draft, including the second and 14th overall.
The Revolution acquired Albright from the Los Angeles Galaxy in January 2008 for allocation money. He played in 26 games in 2008 but played in only one last season because of injuries to his left knee. He had surgery in April.
The 31-year-old Albright has played on three MLS Cup champions with D.C. United in 1999 and the Galaxy in 2002 and 2005.
