New York Red Bulls will open new stadium March 20
Jan 21, 2010 - 11:35 PM SECAUCUS, N.J.(AP) -- The New York Red Bulls will open their new stadium with an exhibition game against Santos of Brazil on March 20.The Major League Soccer team announced on Thursday the opening game for Red Bull Arena in Harrison.
A starting time was not announced.
The Red Bulls' regular-season home opener will be the following week against Chicago.
Santos has won 17 Paulista Championships, including in 2006 and 2007. It is renowned as the club where Pele started his career in 1956 at age 15. Santos has also won two Brazilian Championships, in 2002 and 2004.
