Castro, Shuttleworth re-sign with the Revs
Feb 1, 2010 - 9:43 PM FOXBOROUGH, Mass.(AP) -- The New England Revolution have re-signed Honduran left midfielder Mauricio Castro and backup goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth.Revolution vice president of player personnel Michael Burns announced the moves on Monday. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The 28-year-old Castro missed much of the 2009 season with a hamstring injury. Castro first signed with the Revs from Olimpia of Honduras' Liga Nacional in 2008.
The 22-year-old Shuttleworth is expected to play behind veterans Matt Reis and Preston Burpo.
The Revolution also announced that the team has signed Zack Schilawski, its first-round draft pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft.
