Bordeaux treble bid ends with French Cup defeat
Feb 10, 2010 - 10:20 PM PARIS(AP) -- Bordeaux's hopes of a domestic treble ended when it lost 2-0 at Monaco in the French Cup on Wednesday.The French league leader fell behind when former Liverpool defender Djimi Traore scored in the 27th minute, and Monaco sealed its place in the quarterfinals when Moussa Maazou scored shortly after half time.
Bordeaux has seen its lead at the top of the French league cut to three points by Montpellier, and has reached the semifinals of the League Cup.
In other French Cup matches Wednesday, it was Auxerre 4, Plabennec 0; Saint-Etienne 2, Vannes 0; Lens 3, Marseille 1; and Toulouse 0, Brest 2.
