Edgar signs new deal with English Premiership Newcastle
May 5, 2007 - 2:28 PM NEWCASTLE, England (Ticker) -- Newcastle defender David Edgar on Saturday signed a two-year contract with the English Premiership club.The 19-year-old Canadian, who scored his first senior goal for Newcastle in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United on New Year's Day, will remain at St James' Park until at least 2009.
"I am delighted to have signed the contract and to secure my future at Newcastle," Edgar told the club's official website www.nufc.co.uk. "I guess I will always remember scoring against Manchester United as the highlight of the season. Now I aim to work hard and push for more chances in the first team next season."
