Catania tabs Baldini to be new coach
Jun 3, 2007 - 4:58 PM CATANIA, Italy (Ticker) - Silvio Baldini was named coach of Serie A side Catania on SundayBaldini replaces Pasquale Marino, who stepped down at the end of the season and has since taken over at Udinese.
Marino led Catania to safety with a 2-0 victory over Chievo on the last day of the campaign, a result that relegated the Verona-based club.
"Catania announce they have engaged the coach Silvio Baldini," the team said in a statement.
The Sicilian club also announced the signing of 31-year-old midfielder Giacomo Tedesco from Reggina.
