Mackie signs QPR extension
May 16, 2012 - 4:48 PM London, England (Sports Network) - QPR striker Jamie Mackie has signed a one- year contract extension with the club that ties him to the Loftus Road side until the summer of 2015.The 26-year-old Mackie scored seven goals in league play this season for QPR, including one in Sunday's dramatic 3-2 defeat against Manchester City.
"To be given the opportunity to extend my contract is fantastic for me," Mackie told the club's official website.
"It's really exciting times for the club. Now we've stayed up, I think next season could be a really big one for QPR."
QPR finished in 17th place in its return to the top flight, one point clear of 18th-place Bolton.
Mackie joined QPR from Plymouth Argyle in May 2010 and scored nine goals in his first season at the club before breaking his leg, which ruled him out for the rest of QPR's promotion campaign.
