Figo to stay with Inter Milan
Jun 10, 2007 - 8:15 PM MILAN (Ticker) -- Luis Figo will not be joining David Beckham at the Los Angeles Galaxy this summer after agreeing a new one-year contract to stay with Italian champions Inter Milan next season.Earlier this week, Galaxy general manager Alexi Lalas confirmed he would love to reunite Beckham and Figo - who played together at Real Madrid - in the MLS.
But in a statement on the club's official website, Inter confirmed Figo, 34, was staying.
The Portuguese winger had been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia despite Inter's willingness to keep him for another campaign at the San Siro.
Figo, who joined Inter from Real Madrid in 2005, came close to signing for Saudi champions Al Ittihad during the winter transfer window, but the deal fell through.
No one has shouted yet.
