Impact's Valentin loaned to Norway
Apr 3, 2013 - 3:38 PM Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - The Montreal Impact have loaned defender Zarek Valentin to Norwegian second-division club FK Bodo/Glimt, the club announced on Wednesday."Before any decision, we wanted to make sure that he was ready for this type of experience," said Impact sporting director Nick De Santis. "We feel that it can be beneficial for both parties. Zarek will continue to grow as a player in a different environment, in a different culture and will practice soccer in a different way. It will be valuable for the club as well as he should get a lot of minutes and experience."
Valentin, 21, appeared in 15 games for Montreal in 2012, but has yet to see the field this season.
Montreal currently sits on top of the Eastern Conference with 12 points from five matches and has a bye this week after suffering their its first loss of the season last time out, a 2-0 setback to Sporting Kansas City.
