RBNY's McCarty sidelined with quad injury
Apr 25, 2013 - 8:31 PM Harrison, NJ (Sports Network) - Red Bull New York will be without Dax McCarty for approximately two weeks after it was revealed Thursday that the midfielder has sustained an injury to his right quad.McCarty did not train on Thursday, and afterwards head coach Mike Petke revealed that the 25-year-old will miss more than just Saturday's clash with Toronto FC at BMO Field.
"Dax will be out, the word right now, two weeks," said Petke after Thursday's session. "He has a slight tear in his quad. It's a small little tear, so [the medical staff] are only saying two to two-and-a-half weeks."
The recovery time table means that McCarty likely will miss New York's road match against the Columbus Crew next week as well.
