New England's Tierney fined, suspended
May 1, 2013 - 6:48 PM New York, NY (Sports Network) - The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced Wednesday that it has suspended New England Revolution defender Chris Tierney one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for a reckless challenge that endangered the safety of his opponent.The challenge came in the 90th minute of New England's victory over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday with Tierney committing a dangerous tackle on Sebastien LeToux.
Tierney will serve the suspension Thursday when New England plays at Jeld-Wen Field against the Portland Timbers.
