Sociedad falters at Getafe
May 6, 2013 - 9:59 PM Getafe, Spain (Sports Network) - Real Sociedad failed to strengthen its hold on fourth place in La Liga on Monday as the club dropped a 2-1 contest at Getafe.Valencia's 4-0 win over Osasuna on Saturday allowed Los Che to move to within two points of Sociedad for fourth place.
But after Carlos Vela opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a diving header on Monday, it looked as though Sociedad would maintain its five-point lead.
However, Getafe responded with the equalizing goal in the 18th minute after a terrible giveaway by the Sociedad defense allowed Pedro Leon to slot a shot past goalkeeper Claudio Bravo from inside the penalty area.
The decisive goal came six minutes before halftime and it was courtesy of Abdel Barrada, who pounced on a rebound from Angel Lafita's shot to fire into the empty net.
