Menez ruled out of France friendlies
May 23, 2013 - 4:58 PM Paris, France (Sports Network) - Jeremy Menez has been ruled out of France's two upcoming friendly matches in June as the striker recovers from a back injury. The French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed that the PSG attacker will miss the national team's matches against Uruguay on June 5 and Brazil on June 9.
Menez has not featured for the newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions since May 12, leading France head coach Didier Deschamps and his medical staff to hold the 26-year-old out of action upon further examination.
"Didier Deschamps endorsed this package after an exchange between the medical staff of the Paris Club and the team doctor of France, Franck Le Gall," said the FFF in a statement.
Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has been named as Menez's replacement.
