Arrasate named new Sociedad manager
Jun 7, 2013 - 4:07 PM San Sebastian, Spain (Sports Network) - Jagoba Arrasate was confirmed as the new manager of Real Sociedad on Friday.Arrasate served as an assistant to Philippe Montanier during the last campaign as Sociedad finished in fourth place to lock up a Champions League qualifying place.
Montanier said last month that he wouldn't be returning to the club after turning down a new contract, allowing the 35-year-old Arrasate to take charge after he spent time at Sociedad as a youth player as well as manager of its youth teams.
"Jagoba Arrasate is going to be the next coach. He is the one to continue the strategic plan we have worked to for years," Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay said at a press conference on Friday.
