CARSON, California (Ticker) -- Chivas USA announced Thursday that forward Alecko Eskandarian underwent surgery on his left groin.
The procedure, a pelvic floor repair and adductor release, was performed at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
A former MLS Cup MVP, Eskandarian - who has one goal in his only appearance with Chivas this season - could be out of action up to six weeks. He scored in Chivas' home opener on April 5 and has been out ever since with a left groin strain.
