Revolution's Nicol to coach MLS All-Stars
Jun 29, 2008 - 2:44 AM NEW YORK (Ticker) - New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol will guide the MLS All-Stars when they face the English Premier League side West Ham United FC on July 24 at BMO Field in Toronto.Nicol, who coached the MLS All-Stars to a 2-0 triumph over Scottish Premier League side Celtic FC last campaign, earned the honor this season after leading the Revolution (9-4-3, 30 points) to the most points per contest through games played on June 29.
New England, which recorded a 2-1 triumph over Toronto FC on Saturday, sits atop the Eastern Conference standings with 1.875 points per game.
As coach of the MLS All-Star team, Nicol will select five players and his coaching and training staff.
The MLS All-Star First XI will be announced on July 10.
