Revolution's Ralston earns weekly honors
Jun 30, 2008 - 10:23 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- New England Revolution midfielder Steve Ralston was named the MLS Player of the Week on Monday.Ralston scored two goals in New England's 2-1 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday, helping the Revolution (9-4-3) stay atop the Eastern Conference. His tallies came in the 12th and 59th minute, respectively.
The 34-year-old leads the team in scoring with six goals and three assists this season.
It is only the second career weekly award for Ralston, who has been in the league for all 13 years of its existence. Ralston is the MLS career leader in assists (124) and games played (348).
