Real Salt Lake F Espindola named MLS Player of the Week
Sep 2, 2008 - 10:43 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Real Salt Lake forward Fabian Espindola on Tuesday was named the Major League Soccer Player of the Week.Espindola scored both goals in Real Salt Lake's 2-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids in a Rocky Mountain Cup rivalry showdown on Friday at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
The 23-year-old scored the opening goal of the contest in the 23rd minute and added an insurance goal n the 59th minute.
Espindola, who has five goals in six games this season, earned his first career Player of the Week award and the second of the season for an Real Salt Lake player. Robbie Findley won the honor earlier in the campaign.
