Revolution M Ralston named MLS Player of Week
Sep 15, 2008 - 10:27 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) - New England Revolution midfielder Steve Ralston was named the MLS Player of the Week on Monday after a huge performance in the team's crucial victory last Thursday.The 34-year-old veteran scored a goal and had two assists in the Revolution's 4-0 victory over Chivas USA. He assisted Taylor Twellman on the match's first goal in the 53rd minute before notching his second assist 30 minutes later. He added insurance in stoppage time by scoring his seventh goal of the season.
The victory pushed New England (12-7-5) ahead of the Chicago Fire (11-8-5) for second place in the Eastern Conference with 41 points.
Ralston is tied for ninth in the league with seven goals and tied for sixth with seven assists this season.
