Four MLS players added to U.S. roster
Oct 12, 2008 - 9:55 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Four players from Major League Soccer were added to the United States national team's roster on Sunday.Colorado Rapids veteran midfielder Pablo Mastroeni, Columbus forward Robbie Rogers, Toronto FC defender Marvell Wynne and Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein will play for the Americans in Wednesday's match against Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain.
After soundly thrashing Cuba in a 6-1 triumph on Saturday, the United States clinched a spot in the CONCACAF qualifying finals for the 2012 World Cup.
Coach Bob Bradley released nine players back to their original clubs following the victory. They are Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes), Michael Bradley (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Brian Ching (Houston Dynamo), Jay DeMerit (Watford FC), Clint Dempsey (Fulham FC), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Tim Howard (Everton FC) and Oguchi Onyewu (Standard de Liege).
