Drogba agent denies Inter contact
Dec 3, 2008 - 7:25 PM By PA SportsTickerChelsea striker Didier Drogba has had no contact whatsoever with Inter Milan's representatives, claims his agent, Thierno Seydi.
Drogba's future came under speculation last week when the Ivory Coast international was reported to have attended a meeting with Inter sporting director Marco Branca and Jose Mourinho's agent, Jorge Mendes, at a Fulham restaurant.
However, the 30-year-old's agent has dismissed the story as complete nonsense.
"Officially, and I say this with the utmost firmness, Didier has never met up with anyone from Inter," Seydi told French daily Le 10 Sport. "It's disrespectful to say this.
"His priority is to give his all for Chelsea. He is in that mindset and he's not unhappy at all. His transfer therefore is not at all on the menu. Despite anything people might say or read, there's nothing there."
Drogba, who was banned for three games after he threw a coin back into the crowd during last months' Carling Cup defeat to Burnley, has had a tough past few months following his red card in Chelsea's Champions League final defeat to Manchester United.
Injury prevented him from starting his season until September and his appearances since then have been sporadic.
In his absence, Nicolas Anelka has become the league's top scorer and Drogba is now not guaranteed a first-team place, but his agent claims there is no tension between the pair.
"On the contrary, he is very happy for Nico," said Seydi. "He's not jealous at all. He appreciates him a lot and really likes playing with him in attack.
"Didier simply needs a bit of time to come back. He has never been injured like this in his career."
No one has shouted yet.
