D.C. United F Moreno undergoes successful surgery
Dec 8, 2008 - 6:28 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) - D.C. United forward Jaime Moreno underwent successful sports hernia surgery on his right abdominal wall, the team announced Monday.Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck performed the operation Saturday at her clinic in Munich.
Moreno, United's captain, is expected be ready for full participation in time for preseason next year.
Moreno is the league's all-time leading goal-scorer with 122 career goals and is one assist from becoming the first-ever member of the 100 goals-100 assists club.
Last season Moreno recorded 10 goals and 10 assists.
