Revolution's D Parkhurst heading to Denmark
Dec 9, 2008 - 4:37 PM FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- New England Revolution defender Michael Parkhurst on Tuesday signed a contract to play for FC Nordsjclland of Denmark's SAS Ligaen.The 24-year-old will join the team in January 2009, as his four-year contract with Major League Soccer expires at year's end.
"We've known for a while that Michael wanted to try to play in Europe," Revolution vice president of player personnel Michael Burns said. "Michael has been a true professional during this process and was fully committed to helping the Revolution succeed on the field."
Parkhurst scored one goal in 115 games during his MLS career, earning the Rookie of Year award in 2005 and Defender of the Year honors two years later.
