Earthquakes D Hernandez to join U.S. roster
Jan 7, 2009 - 1:12 AM SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- San Jose Earthquakes defender Jason Hernandez on Tuesday was selected by United States coach Bob Bradley to join the men's national team.The 25-year-old Hernandez, who will be making his first appearance in a national team camp, has been added to the side which is depleted by the absences of Clarence Goodson and Cory Gibbs.
Hernandez started a career-high 28 matches for the Earthquakes and notched his first career assist last season.
The United States faces Sweden in a friendly on January 24 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
