Murray wins at Queen's Club for third time

Jun 16, 2013 - 6:45 PM London, England (Sports Network) - Andy Murray secured his fourth career grass court title on Sunday with a three-set victory over Marin Cilic in the final at the Aegon Championships.

Murray, the top seed and now three-time winner of this Wimbledon tune-up, rallied past Cilic 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 at the Queen's Club. The start of the match was delayed for over three hours due to rain.

Cilic, the No. 5 seed, won here last year when David Nalbandian defaulted in the final. Nalbandian smacked an on-court advertising panel into a linesman, who suffered a gash on his leg as a result of an unfortunate racquet-wielding incident.

This was Murray's first tournament since retiring in a second-round match at the Italian Masters in May. He skipped the French Open because of a lower back injury to rest for a run at the Wimbledon title.

"I worked very hard in the time that I had off to try and get myself back in the best shape possible and I couldn't do it without my team," Murray said. "They have helped me a lot. They have been very patient with me. they're why I was able to come out and play so tough the last two matches."

Murray previously won this tournament in 2009 and again in 2011. The Scotsman won his third title of the year and improved to 27-14 all-time in finals.

The 26-year-old Murray is now 9-1 against Cilic, who fell to 9-8 all-time in title matches.

Murray took home $115,000 with the victory.
