Isner, Baghdatis exit Den Bosch

Jun 17, 2013 - 6:20 PM Den Bosch, Netherlands (Sports Network) - Four seeds, including No. 2 John Isner and No. 6 Marcos Baghdatis, went by way of the upset Monday at the $545,000 Topshelf Open, a final grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.

Russian Evgeny Donskoy came from behind to douse the 6-foot-9 American Isner 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-4, while Argentine Carlos Berlocq handled Cyprus' Baghdatis 6-2, 6-4 at Autotron Rosmalen.

More upsets occurred, as Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez topped seventh-seeded Romanian Victor Hanescu 6-4, 6-3 and Russian Andrey Kuznetsov dismissed eighth-seeded Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 on Day 2.

In other opening-round play, Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut outlasted Swiss qualifier Stephane Bohli 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (14-12) in 2 hours, 41 minutes and Italian Paolo Lorenzi edged out wild card and the Netherlands' own Thiemo de Bakker 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-4).

On Tuesday, first-round matches will come for top seeds David Ferrer and Swiss Stan Wawrinka. The two-time champion Den Bosch titlist Ferrer, of Spain, beat German Philipp Petzschner in last year's finale.
