Rain disrupts schedule in Chennai

Jan 7, 2009 - 6:37 PM CHENNAI, India (Ticker) -- Rain washed out all of Wednesday's scheduled action at the Chennai Open.

The second-round matches between Germany's Andrea Beck and Spain's Marcel Granollers, Israel's Dudi Sela and Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic, and Croatia's Marin Cilic and Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin have all been rescheduled for Thursday.

The big news of the day occurred off the court as top seed Nikolay Davydenko withdrew from the tournament before his second-round match against Czech wild card Lukas Dlouhy.

The fifth-ranked Russian stated that he has a left heel injury which also will force him to miss the Australian Open later this month.
