Jackson matches career high, helps Storm past Sparks
Jun 25, 2007 - 3:52 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Lauren Jackson matched her career high of 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Seattle Storm posted an 83-71 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday.Janell Burse and Betty Lennox each scored 12 points and reserve Wendy Palmer scored 10 for Seattle (6-6), which snapped a two-game losing streak, improving to .500.
Jackson, who connected on 14-of-22 from the floor, scored nine in the first quarter, five in the second and 15 in the third to help Seattle take a 67-52 lead entering the final period. The 2003 WNBA MVP also scored 35 points vs. the Phoenix Mercury on May 25, 2006.
The Storm shot 43 percent (28-of-65).
Rookie Sidney Spencer and fellow reserve Sherill Baker scored 15 points and Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 10 for Los Angeles (6-6), which shot 39 percent (26-of-66) and has dropped three straight here vs. Seattle.
