Mercury ink Ashley Paris to training camp contract
Feb 27, 2010 - 12:45 AM PHOENIX(AP) -- The Phoenix Mercury have signed free-agent power forward Ashley Paris to a training camp contract.The defending WNBA champions announced the deal on Friday without disclosing terms.
The 6-foot-3 Paris was released by the Los Angeles Sparks last June. They had selected her in the second round of the draft last April.
The 22-year-old former Oklahoma standout spent the offseason playing in Israel for Elizur Ramla. She averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds in nearly 35 minutes per game.
The Mercury open their season May 15 at home against the Sparks.
