Silver Stars sign F Christon
Feb 8, 2012 - 6:42 PM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - The San Antonio Silver Stars signed forward Shameka Christon on Wednesday."We are excited to welcome Shameka to San Antonio," Silver Stars head coach and general manager Dan Hughes said. "In a good WNBA free agent class, she is one of the best. Shameka brings a great deep perimeter shooting with athletic length, skill and character to the Silver Stars."
A seven-year WNBA veteran, Christon has averaged 11.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 207 career games with New York and Chicago.
Christon missed the 2011 season with a right knee injury suffered during training camp.
