Sparks F Ogwumike again selected as WNBA's Rookie of the Month
Sep 4, 2012 - 7:16 PM New York, NY (Sports Network) - For the third time in 2012, Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike has been named the WNBA Rookie of the Month.Ogwumike, the first overall pick in his year's draft, ranked second among all rookies in rebounds per game (7.6) and field goal percentage (.548) while placing third in points per game (12.0).
Her best performance of the abbreviated August schedule came in LA's first game back after the Olympic break, totaling 17 points and 10 rebounds in an 82-71 win over Seattle on Aug. 18.
Ogwumike is averaging 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest for Los Angeles, which has nailed down a playoff berth and holds second place in the Western Conference.
