Mercury's Dupree signs extension
Sep 21, 2012 - 5:23 PM Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Mercury re-signed forward Candice Dupree to a multi-year contract extension Friday.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The three-time All-Star had played in 151 straight contests before missing 21 games this season due to a left knee injury.
Dupree has averaged 14.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists through 11 games this year.
"In three years with the Mercury, Candice has proven to be the consummate professional and has established herself as a core member of this franchise," Mercury president and chief operating officer Amber Cox said. "She has worked hard on her rehab following knee surgery and it has been great to see her back on the court playing. We look forward to having her back completely healthy next season and for years to come."
The sixth overall pick by the Chicago Sky in the 2006 draft, Dupree has career averages of 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals over 214 games with Chicago and Phoenix.
