Mercury win No. 1 pick
Sep 27, 2012 - 12:03 AM Bristol, CN (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Mercury won the top overall pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft on Wednesday.The Mercury won the lottery selection as the team had the second-best odds with a 27.6 percent chance. The team finished last in the Western Conference with a 7-27 record.
It will be the third time that Phoenix has the top selection as the team also had the first pick in 2004 and 2007, but traded away the 2007 selection.
Picking second is Chicago (14-20), Tulsa (9-25) will go third and Washington (5-29), which had the best odds, will select fourth.
New York will select fifth followed by Seattle, Atlanta, San Antonio, Indiana, Los Angeles, Connecticut and Minnesota selecting last.
The draft will take place next April.
