Silver Stars re-sign G Darling
Feb 25, 2008 - 4:22 PM SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Silver Stars on Monday re-signed veteran guard Helen Darling.Terms of the deal were not released. Darling was a free agent after the end of the 2007 season.
"We are so excited that Helen has decided to continue to be a key part of our future here in San Antonio," Silver Stars general manager Dan Hughes said. "She is one of the premier defenders in all of the WNBA and knows how to lead a team. She is a true professional and will be a joy for our fans to watch."
A defensive specialist, Darling had 45 steals in 2007, an average of 1.4 per game. She also averaged 4.1 points and 3.1 assists for the Silver Stars, who finished the season 20-14, second in the Western Conference, but lost to Phoenix in the conference finals.
